Safe Sitter Course
The Lawrence Township Health and Recreation departments sponsor the Safe Sitter Course to teach safe babysitting skills. The program teaches adolescents 11 and older how to handle emergencies when caring for young children. Safe Sitters learn what to do when a child stops breathing or how to care for a choking child. Other areas include accident prevention, how to call for emergency assistance, basic childcare skills and how to entertain children and keep them safe.
The Safe Sitter program is a 12 hour program and must be attended in their entirety. The registration is taken first come first served, class size is limited to 12 students.
