Bringing our community together year-round. From holiday celebrations to family fun days and programs for all ages, we are here for everyone in Lawrence Township.

Every event and program is designed with the community in mind. We proudly host Community Day & Food Truck Festival, the Veterans Day Ceremony, the Memorial Day Parade, Independence Day Fireworks, the 9/11 Ceremony, the Valentine’s Day Candle Walk, Trunk or Treat, the Spring Egg Hunt, the Holiday Tree Lighting, and our Halloween and Holiday House Decorating Contests, along with many more traditions that unite neighbors, families, and friends.

Beyond special events, we offer year-round recreation programs including youth wrestling, youth basketball, the youth swim team, swim lessons, adult walking club, fitness and exercise classes, and summer camps, along with many more opportunities for recreation and learning. We also operate open swim, lap swim, and swim lessons on evenings and weekends at the Lawrence High School pool.

The Lawrence Township Anne Demarais Nature Center is proudly managed by the Recreation Department, and we continue to invest in parks and playground improvements across the township. We also collaborate with local youth organizations to support community programs and strengthen recreational opportunities.

Our programs are designed for children, teens, adults, and seniors, creating opportunities to connect, grow, and belong.

Winners will be announced on December 17th.

Light the Town Hall Tree with the Mayor Contest

Enter for a chance for your child to help Mayor Patricia Hendricks Farmer, count down and officially light the Lawrence Township Tree at our annual Tree Lighting. The event is Friday, December 5 at the Municipal Building. The event runs from 6 to 8 pm and the tree lighting will take place at 6:30 pm.

This contest is open to Lawrence Township residents only.

Entry deadline is December 3 at 12 noon.

The drawing will take place at 3 pm on December 3, and the winner will be notified by email or phone.

The selected child must be at the event and available at 6:15 pm to participate. If the chosen child is not present, an alternate may be selected.

2025 Jolly Trolley Rides

Hop on for a magical evening on Thursday, December 18 aboard a Victorian style trolley. Enjoy the Jolly Trolley Ride, a 45 minute tour through Lawrence Township featuring the best holiday house lights and festive displays around town. It is a warm, nostalgic ride that captures the season as you roll past glowing homes and cheerful decorations. To keep things fair, participation will be selected by lottery.

How it works:

Families may enter for up to 4 participants, Choose one preferred time slot: 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, or 7:00 pm

Cost: $12 per person

Ages 2 and under ride free (lap seats only)

If your name is selected in the lottery, the Recreation Department will contact you to arrange payment. Registration is not complete until payment is received.

Accessibility: Trolleys are not handicap accessible. If needed, your accessible vehicle may follow the trolley route upon request.
