Special Storm Collection - Week of 6/23/25
Please be advised the Lawrence Township Public Works Department is scheduling a special township wide brush collection for the week of 6/23 (all zones 1-4) because of the storm on 6/19/25 that affected our area. All collection rules are in effect and will be monitored by township staff. Please place your yard-waste out for collection this weekend (6/21-6/22).
Leaf Compost
Thanks to all the residents that visited the Ecological Facility and took home our leaf compost this year. We are currently out of stock and will be screening last years leaves this August. Thanks for your patience!
PSEG Recycling Program
A free PSEG program where residents can schedule a free pick-up of refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers. They are offering a $150 rebate for fridges/ freezers and a $50 rebate for air conditioners and dehumidifiers picked up at the same time. You must be a current PSE&G customer receiving residential electric service, or a Butler Electric customer receiving PSE&G residential gas service. Also, your refrigerator or freezer must be 10 to 30 cubic feet and in working order, you must be the owner of the appliances you want to recycle, and the appliances need to be located at your PSE&G service address. Please note that Sub-Zero brand appliances are not eligible for this program, and that PSE&G cannot perform a pickup for only room air conditioners or dehumidifiers on their own. Bulk Collection Schedule
Bulk waste consists of items to be discarded which are too large to fit into your cart. Residents are permitted three bulky items for collection on the last Friday of each month. Each item shall not weigh more than 50-pounds. Mattresses and box springs must be wrapped in plastic. Bulk exceptions are all metal items and "white goods" including washers, dryers, ovens, refrigerators, etc. Bulky material too large to fit in the "hopper" of any vehicle used for collection will not get picked up.
