The Lawrence Township Department of Public Works strives to afford residents and visitors with the highest quality of services in the care of our public infrastructure and facilities. The Public Works Department employees serve with professionalism, dedication, and teamwork.
This work is accomplished by utilizing cost effective practices, technology, shared services, and innovation. Responding to the routine services or public emergencies, the employees of the Public Works Department are dedicated to serving the public needs. Through special projects, capital improvements, and supporting special events, the Public Works staff is focused on maintaining our community assets.
The Township's Public Works Department manages a 22 square mile municipality in Mercer County with approximately 33,000 residents. The Department has several Divisions with 35 full time employees.
The Public Works Department coordinates emergency snow/ice removal for 200 lane miles of municipal roads. We coordinate and repair roadways, drainage, traffic signs, road markings, and emergency storm response. Our staff manages all municipal facilities located in the Township (Police/Court, Firehouses, EMS, Public Works, Town Hall, Senior Center, etc). Our responsibility also includes the management of 2,000 acres of property and open space.
