General assistance is a program under which financial and medical aid is provided by the Mercer County Board of Social Services to persons who are citizens of the United States or have eligible alien status and are currently ineligible for participation in any other public assistance program in New Jersey.

This program is available to individuals between 18 - 65 years of age, without dependent children.
